Bonsai Tree Care
Bonsai Tree Care
Thousands of people throughout the entire world enjoy the relaxing and skilful art of Bonsai Tree Care. There is something quite mystical and magical about Chinese bonsai trees and they are something of outstanding beauty too. The word bonsai is a combination of two words meaning Bon ( tray ) and Sai ( growing ) joined together. So we can translate this to mean planting into a tray (what could be simpler ? ) But you and I both know that it is far from simple to create and maintain some of the truly outstanding examples of Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree, Dwarf Juniper Bonsai Tree, Bougainvillea Bonsai Tree, Japanese Maple Bonsai Tree, Jade Bonsai Trees that I have seen. Patience and skill are required to obtain a certain level of expertise and competence for proper Bonsai Tree Care which can only be gained over time and with the right Expert Information and Advice this process can be Greatly shortened and your own learning curve can be Accelerated and up to speed for you to be administering the proper level of Bonsai Tree Care in no time at all.
Bonsai Tree Care Starter Kits
If you or someone you know is just starting to get into the whole concept of keeping Chinese or Japanese Bonsai Trees then a starter kit may be the way forward for them as you will be getting most of the proper equipment and Tools that you will need in order to be able to administer proper Bonsai Tree Care.
Most Bonsai Tree Kits will contain the following items which form the basis of a good quality starter kit.
Your kit will have to be made up of at Least these items, first of all you will need a decent sapling for you to plant, you will also need a container ( to put your soil in ) you will also need some rocks and some training wire to guide your Bonsai Tree in the right direction. ( please note that not all starter kits are equal in quality you will get what you pay for so it may pay you to spend a little more in the beginning to ensure that you are getting the best equipment and seeds/cuttings to get the best results for the fruits of your labour.
I’m a Beginner What Should I Start With ?
My advice to complete beginners is to start with something which is considered to be one of the easier types of Bonsai Tree to grow and maintain and that would be the Japanese Maple Bonsai Tree, this can be purchased as a seed which will take considerably longer to grow, or you can purchase Japanese Maple Trees that are already grown and you just have to maintain them this is a much quicker option and maybe a little less rewarding but it is a choice you can make on your way to expanding your knowledge on proper Bonsai Tree Care.
Bonsai Pruning
There are a couple of things worth considering here you will have to prune both the top and the bottom ( the roots ) in order to achieve proper Bonsai Tree Care.
You will have to make sure that you are also using sharp pruning shears so you don’t damage the stems and roots of your Chinese/Japanese Bonsai Trees.
You will need to prune and shape the top of your Bonsai Tree and keep it neat and tidy and also sculpt it into the shape and size you require.
Your Bonsai Tree Care will also involve regular pruning of your roots at the bottom of your Bonsai Tree. This is an often overlooked or forgotten about part of the process to (especially beginners )achieving proper Bonsai Tree Care.
If you can imagine for a moment a full size tree growing freely in an open space you will be aware of just how far out the roots can be found this will also determine just how big the tree can get. So at the same time proper Bonsai Tree Care will involve pruning the roots to Limit the size it can get.
