Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree

Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree
Chinese Elm Bonsai Trees originated in and around the area of Eastern Asia and can be a great first tree for a beginner to a Bonsai Tree Care programme as they can be quite forgiving because they can grow up to around 60 feet in height, therefore meaning that if you do over do the whole pruning and shearing process then the tree will grow back and you can start again and restart your masterpiece from scratch.

Pruning and Re-potting
You will need to re-pot your Chinese Elm Bonsai maybe every 2 years or so in order to maintain proper Bonsai Tree Care. You will be well advised to do a proper spring pruning and shearing and then leave your Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree for at least a month before re-potting ,this is to ensure that your Chinese Elm Bonsai does not suffer from any shock to its rootball.

Soil and Watering
You will find that this particular type of Chinese Bonsai Tree is quite a hardy type of tree and will therefore be pretty easy to care for. Keep the soil that you have chosen for your Bonsai Tree Care fairly moist all year round but please be aware that in the spring and summer months you will have to water it a little more.

Temperature and Lighting
Your Chinese Elm Bonsai will need plenty of both light and shade and also need some kind of shelter from the colder weather that we experience in the winter.
Try to give your Chinese Elm Bonsai a good amount of sunshine in the summer months but also be sure to give it some shade too and one final word on the soil do not let it completely dry out as this will damage your Chinese Elm Bonsai tree roots. This is all a part of proper Bonsai Tree Care.
